Video
Storage
 So
you have your cameras, you have them installed, and you're
deep into your surveillance. Forgetting something? You need
a way to store the video.
There
are basically three ways to store
your video. You can choose traditional VHS VCRs, 8mm VCRs,
or Digital VCRs (DVRs). Traditional VCRs record onto standard
VHS tapes. These are basically suped-up VCRs similar to the
ones you have in your living room. They have advanced features
like motion detection record and time lapse recording, which
allows you to record up to 9600 hours on a single tape. The
8mm VCRs are based on the 8mm camcorder technology. They,
too, offer the advanced features of motion detection and time
lapse.
Above
all these, however, we recommend the DVRs. They record your
video digitally, which allows you to burn video clips to CDs,
as well as email them to a friend, boss, or the police. We
offer 3 different DVRs. The most popular is our 40
hour DVR. This has a LCD monitor built onto it, which
makes surveillance in the field effortless.
